Trauma Foundation's Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Status
In 2001, The Trauma Foundation received its Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status from the United Nations. This will allow for the Trauma Foundation to pursue injury prevention worldwide. In July 2001, extending its work on gun policy into the international arena, the Trauma Foundation sent two representatives to the United Nations Conference on the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects in New York.
